FAQ

How restricted will I be during the 5 weeks

There is a definite restrictive element to the course. As we work through the 5 week program of gut healing we remove inflammatory foods, common allergenic foods and chemicals from the diet and digestive tract. This will allow greater healing to take place. You  will receive a food list detailing foods to avoid and foods that can be freely eaten.

What happens at the end of the 5 weeks

At the end of week 5 you will be given detailed instructions on how to reintroduce the eliminated foods back into your diet.. Often there are things that people don’t want to reintroduce because they feel so much better without them - so don't be surprised! But I will encourage you to challenge your body and see how you react to the various foods - so you can build up a clearer picture about which foods make you thrive and which foods don't suit your body. As we have healed the gut in the 5 week process - hopefully your body will be able to tolerate a wider range of foods and the overall aim is to have the least restriction going forward

I already consider myself healthy - would I benefit from the course

I have been working in the gut health area for a long time and I am yet to see someone who doesn’t benefit from a tune-up of their digestive tract. The  most common things that affect gut health are antibiotic use, stress, inflammatory foods, a lack of digestive enzymes, medication, alcohol and poor diet and so most people have experienced one or more of these in the past and therefore could benefit.. In my opinion most people are functioning below their full health potential and this 5 weeks allows the body time to heal, regenerate and to function at a better level

Will I experience detox symptoms

If you currently survive on a diet of sugar  and carbohydrates then often the body takes a few days to recalibrate with the new foods you are allowing it to eat. It may not be that happy! There are the usual headaches and tiredness for some people but these generally don't last for more than a couple of days

Will I lose weight / Is this a weight loss course

NO! I want to be very clear about this - This is not a weight loss course. This is a Digestive Wellness course - where one of the common and beautiful side effects of returning the body to a better state of health - is weight loss. Most people DO lose weight as they clean up their diet, as inflammation goes down and as they start eating foods we were designed to eat but everyone is different and I cannot guarantee this

Will i be hungry

Hopefully not. A common comment during the final group session is - I can't believe I wasn’t hungry !

There is no starvation / severe calorie restriction / fasting element to this program. I want you to nourish your body for the whole 5 weeks with real food to help strengthen  and heal your gut lining and to improve your health. There is no limit on the amount of food eaten but obviously sensible portioning is advised

As you will learn - an undernourished body that is not getting the nutrients it needs to carry out its daily functions will drive cravings in an attempt to get those nutrients into the body. And so as you improve the nutrient content of your food and as we reduce sugar and nutrient poor foods from the diet - your cravings should subside

What if I am taking medication

We need to have a discussion prior to signup so that I can check if you will be suitable for the course. I then cross check your meds and the course supplements with the supplement companies. In the case of a contraindication we either use a food option rather than a supplement or I alter the supplement program to accommodate your needs.

How  much support will I receive during the course?

Plenty!

Once we embark on this journey together I am happy for you to ask me individual questions out of the group sessions. As there are 3 different food programs running consecutively on the course I ask that you liaise individually with me about your food issues - to avoid confusion. This gives you plenty of time to ask questions and to ensure you are getting the most out of the course

We also have a group Facebook page where you can ask questions and offer each other support.

You will receive a 50 + page recipe guide to help you through your program and there is something for everyone within its pages.

The group session provides an amazing amount of support for course participants. Arriving on a Wednesday evening you soon realise you are not the only person experiencing cravings, headaches etc (I’m painting a bad picture here!) and the sessions can help inspire food ideas and solutions to problems you may be experiencing

After each Wednesday night session you will receive notes from the session to give you a chance to absorb the material and recap

How does the group evening run

The group session lasts for 1 hour on a Wednesday evening. Each week starts with a discussion on people's progress.

We then run through one element of the 5 R program of gut restoration each week. There is so much to learn about the inner workings of your body and what you can do to help everything run more smoothly or at its best - that you’re unlikely to be bored. My job is to inspire you to make the changes necessary to take your health up a couple of notches and  to educate you to make better, more informed choices. I want you to leave my course and never look at food in the same way and care about what you put into your body / realise the massive impact you can have on your health with the food you choose to eat

What if I have to miss one of the Wednesday night group sessions

I can make a recording of the night and send you it via What’s Ap. You will receive the course group session notes the following day along with everyone else.

I would not recommend missing the first night as this is crucial to your overall understanding of the course and subject  and its the night I’m the most excited! (Not to be missed!)

Social events during the course? Can I still do it

It depends what it is. We have generally managed to work around everything so far but if you’re planning a boozy pizza eating 3 day stag doo in the middle of the course - I would suggest waiting for a more suitable timing. Previous participants have mentioned that they needed a fairly clear social calendar to get the max out of the course.  This doesn't mean you can't go out but it means you need to be more careful

Refund Policy

Earlybird payment - this is  a non refundable payment

Full Course Price - £100 non refundable deposit. Remainder of the course payment will be refunded up to 2 weeks prior to the start date.

Once you have made payment you will receive a series of questionnaires to complete prior to the course starting. This will allow me to allocate you to one of the 3 Digestive Programs I run on the course.

One week prior to the start date you will receive your Recipe Guide and Food plan. I ask you to wait until after the first group session before asking any questions as often they are answered in that session.
